Your days as an investigative journalist are long gone as you look out your window at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. The stories you witnessed unfold surrounding that place nagging at you, begging you to unearth one more cementing your legacy as the greats had. Lost in a dream like haze, you barely notice your secretary enter the room. “I know you wanted your last day before retirement to be an easy one, but he insists on seeing you”. “Who?” you ask curiously. “Your nephew”. Walking out into the hustle and bustle of a busy newsroom you quietly tap the shoulders of your most trusted journalists. Once alone, you explain who your nephew is. “I’ve always separated personal life from business but today they became one and the same. My nephew is an aide within the White House. He doesn’t have many details only that an Executive Order will be signed in the coming days that could change how the United States is viewed on a world stage. I’ll let him explain the rest.”
Silence fills the room as the team weighs the decision laid out before them. “You know if we’re caught that’s federal prison we’re looking at, right?” one of your reporters offers up. “Just say we were looking for the bathroom, worked at the last press conference when I snuck into the Lincoln bedroom” can always rely on an entertainment writer to make light of a serious situation.
Your longest tenured investigator finally speaks, “Only an hour isn’t a lot of time to get in and out with the document especially if it’s hidden in the oval office like your nephew says.” Addressing the room, you look at each one of your employees, knowing that despite their reservations they are all prepared to risk everything for this step into the history books. “I know, which is why I’ll be joining you.”
Your team must retrieve the Order and get out of the Oval Office before the Secret Service find you.
